Thai Basil Pork


  • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 7 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 3 Thai bird or holland chilies, de-seeded (if desired) and thinly sliced
  • 1 packet of long beans, sliced to 1-2cm in length
  • Holy basil leaves (about 1 1/2 cups packed)
  • 300g ground pork


  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1/2 cup of water/chicken stock


  1. Fry the chili, shallots and garlic until fragrant with some vegetable oil
  2. Add in long beans and ground pork (break minced pork into smaller bits throughout the stirfry)
  3. Add marinade into pan to cook pork and long beans until slightly soft
  4. Add Holy basil as the last step and cook until wilted.
